WAVES –
February 22 through April 2, 2012 – opening reception Friday, 2/24/2012 7-9pm
First Street Gallery artists, painter Beth Haizlip and Glass artist Kyle Goodwin collaborate their creative talents for this show. Their artistic interpretation of wave motions and sea life are heavily influenced by their love of both the ocean and art.
Beth has been an artist at First Street Gallery for over 5 years and has enjoyed many awards and accomplishments. She was chosen as the 2007 Jazz Festival Poster artist and is an active member of the Florida and Jacksonville Watercolor Society, The Art Guild of Orange Park and St. Augustine Art Association. She began painting at a very young age and graduated with a BA from Florida Southern College and has continued her artistic education taken classes and attending number workshops learning new techniques in watercolors, acrylics and oil painting.
Kyle is a self taught artist born on the gulf coast of Florida and began drawing as soon as he could hold a pencil. While drawing was his original form of artistic expression, in 1994 his discovery of glass and sandblasting has became his passion. An avid surfer, it’s only natural the Kyle’s art is “wave oriented”. He is constantly trying new techniques and methods and loves to push the limits of glass sandblasting so his work is ever changing and evolving. Kyle’s work can be found all over the world, in private collections, galleries, museums and corporations.
Both Kyle and Beth will be at the opening reception of “Waves” on Friday, February 24th and would enjoy sharing their art and talking to the interested public.
